The whales are still here, the waves are calling, and our final weekends are up for grabs.

September has been doing exactly what September in Umzumbe should do - bringing sunshine, good waves, warm afternoons, and plenty of reasons to spend as much time outside as possible.

And if there’s one thing we definitely haven’t had enough of lately… it’s whales!

We’re still having plenty of whale sightings right from our treedeck, and honestly, we don’t think we’ll ever get tired of it. There’s something pretty special about sitting up there with a coffee, watching the sun rise over the ocean, and suddenly spotting a splash or a tail in the distance. No boat trip. No schedule. Just sit back and keep your eyes on the ocean. That’s Umzumbe for you!

The days have been filled with all the usual Surf House essentials - getting in the water, chasing waves, stretching it out with some yoga, slow mornings, long afternoons on the beach, and plenty of doing absolutely nothing. September has also brought lots of classic Surf House evenings, with braais stretching into the night, cold drinks, stories around the fire and bonfires under the stars.

As October rolls in, the days are getting longer, the ocean is calling and we’re heading further into that beautiful South Coast summer feeling. If you’ve been thinking about escaping to Umzumbe, consider this your sign - come for the surf, stay for the whales, stick around for the braai and maybe find yourself wondering why you don’t live here permanently. We still have our final available weekends for the whole property, so get your favourite people together, pack the boards and come spend a weekend by the ocean before those last weekends are gone!
