March wrapped up in true Umzumbe style: sun-soaked days, salty air, and a whole lot of stoke. We closed off the month on a high note with an unforgettable live beachfront concert by Ryan Jones. Good vibes, great music, and the sound of waves rolling in the background made it one of those nights you wish you could bottle and keep forever.

Warmest water and crystal clear conditions

The ocean has been treating us kindly too. Small, mellow waves have been rolling through consistently, creating perfect conditions for learning. It’s been epic for lessons, with plenty of progression, laughs, and those magic “first wave” moments happening daily. And the water? Absolutely unreal. Sitting at a warm 26°C and crystal clear, it’s about as inviting as it gets.

First Paint Workshop of 2026 and the next one coming!

Earlier in the month, we hosted our first Paintwork Workshop of 2026 with Radmer Lenasch - and wow, what a turnout. The event was completely sold out and packed with creativity, energy, and inspiration. Seeing everyone come together, brushes in hand, was something special. Ticket To Ride in the (Surf)House

To top it all off, the crew behind Ticket to Ride made a return visit -and scored some seriously fun waves during their stay. Always a good sign of what’s on offer when the banks line up just right. We had good waves, a whole lot of sunshine and the perfect evening braais with the whole crew!

Looking ahead...

... we’re already in full swing for the school holidays and Easter period. The house is buzzing, boards are waxed, and we’re ready to welcome both familiar faces and new ones. Our yoga sessions continue to be a core part of the experience - the perfect way to start the day with a stretch, reset after a long surf, and soak in the ocean views while finding your balance both in and out of the water.
